Autodesk Inventor 2016 R2 now available for subscription customers

Autodesk Inventor 2016 R2 update provides subscribers with new capabilities and Service Pack 1, together as one download and install experience.

Available now to install from the Autodesk Application Manager Updates Tab or download from the Autodesk subscription site.

New exciting capabilities include:
Shape Generator- A design-focused implementation of topology optimization technology integrated directly within Inventor. Shape Generator provides the best possible design solution based on how you want the part to perform. Components are structurally efficient, and lightweight parts can help improve machine efficiency potentially reducing material costs.

ForceEffect design – A fast, intuitive free body diagramming tool for quickly exploring and understanding static loading and kinematics. ForceEffect studies can be initiated inside of Inventor or started in the field on the ForceEffect iOS and Android apps and linked to sketches inside Inventor.

Electromechanical design  (Inventor Professional Only) – New PCB data import options that help improve collaboration between mechanical engineers and electronics engineers. Filtering options enable greater control over how IDF data is converted to Inventor data on import. A new component matching option allows IDF data to be linked to Inventor component libraries, enabling re-use and customization of commonly used components.
